We ordered the narrow mesh cage and within 3 minutes of it being in position we had a blackbird feeding. It has done the job of stopping the wood pigeons feasting and taking all the food, (we have a table which they can access). The quality is excellent, very sturdy and well finished. Easy to assemble too. Would highly recommend the cage to anyone who has problems with the larger birds.

Disappointed the first visitors were squirrels made nothing of getting in and out. Pigeons spent hours walking round and round until they eventually were brave enough to stick their heads in and eat all the food in their range. It is really good for the small birds however the blackbirds will not go in so I take the cage off at regular intervals so they can feed. I also have an overturned metal hanging basket and the blackbirds will go in that but alas so will the pigeons heads and whole squirrels. have given up

Does what it says; the squirrels can’t get in. Unfortunately blackbirds can’t get in but all other smaller birds can.

I think it would be good to point out that even the wide mesh doesn't allow blackbirds in to feed, though I have found the song thrush that visits my garden will go through the mesh. As blackbirds are mainly ground feeders, I have found that leaving the top 'door' open allows them to drop in, but does keep the wood pigeons out, which was my main object in purchasing the cage.

Delivered really quickly and easy to assemble. It's proved to be excellent at keeping the pigeons away from the spilled seeds under my bird feeders while the small birds are happy to nip in and out clearing up any leftovers. The pesky pigeons only visit occasionally now for the slim pickings beyond the cage. Worth noting that my local pair of shy doves can still reach in a good way to get a meal.
