Natural Log Tit Nest Box
The natural log tit box is a hollowed out log complete with bark intact and a 29mm entrance hole ideal for the Blue Tit and other small hole nesting species. The appearance of the natural product may vary but is ideal for a garden or woodland setting.
The natural air dried Sustainably Sourced wooden logs has low thermal conductivity providing excellent insulation for nesting birds. The wood is beautifully pale in colour and the bark is a mottled brown colour. It is remarkably light and strong and resistant to cracking and splitting.
The hinged lid is easily lifted by loosening the securing screw to allow for cleaning and inspection. The nestbox should be hung from the hole in the wooden back plate at the rear of the nestbox.
As the product is made from natural wood the appearance may vary due to seasonal availability of timber or environmental factors.
The natural appearance of the nester makes it the ideal choice of box for a natural woodland wildlife area and for use in areas where nest boxes need to blend in with the surroundings.
Erect the box with the entrance hole ideally facing between North and South East, 2-4m high, away from the prevailing wind direction in the UK and also away from bird feeding areas.
