Linseed, also known as flaxseed, is a healthy and delicious snack loved by a variety of wild birds. Our linseed feed comes with FREE delivery!

Doves, finches, and robins are just some of the birds that enjoy eating flaxseed. Our linseed feed for birds is packed full of essential vitamins and minerals for wild birds, and it's also a great source of protein, fibre, and omega 3.

Our delicious linseed for birds is grown right here on our farm, where it’s incorporated into many of our wild bird cover mixtures. We sow wild bird cover in the autumn and leave it unharvested over the winter for the benefit of yellowhammers and other birds that visit the farm.

Please note - if you would like to buy bigger quantities of our products (this can be any of our seed mixes, straight seeds, peanuts etc) we are able to offer Quarter ( < 300kg ) ,Half (< 600kg) and Full ( <1200kg) pallets of 15kg, 20kg or 25kg sacks. Is linseed good for birds?
Linseed (also known as flaxseed) is a delicious and nutritionally dense snack loved by all manner of wild birds. Linseed for birds is a great source of fibre, protein, vitamins C, E, B, and various essential minerals.

Is flaxseed and linseed the same thing?
Yes, linseed and flaxseed are the same thing. In the United Kingdom we alternate between flaxseed and linseed, where as in the US and Canada, both are referred to as flax. Flaxseed and linseed originate from the same plant and are essentially the same, but here in the UK we’re more likely to refer to the plant as linseed when using the seed for polish, paints, ink, etc. We will be more likely to use the term ‘flaxseed’ when it’s being used as a food.

Can all birds eat flaxseed?
Due to their small size, flax seeds can be eaten by a wide range of birds. Although flaxseeds have a hard coating, any bird that has a bill and digestive system adapted to seed eating should not have issues consuming flaxseed. Some birds that are known for enjoying flaxseed include finches, robins, and doves.
